Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, softened¾ cup granulated sugar1 large egg1 teaspoon vanilla extract½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)1 ½ cups all-purpose flour½ teaspoon baking powder¼ teaspoon saltPink and red sprinkles or sanding sugar½ cup white chocolate chips (optional for drizzle)

Method

  1. Step 1: Make the DoughPreheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using. Mix until combined. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring just until a soft dough forms.
  2. Step 2: Shape and DecorateRoll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass. Immediately sprinkle with pink and red sprinkles or sanding sugar before baking.
  3. Step 3: Bake and ServeBake for 7 to 9 minutes, or until edges are just set and lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. For an extra touch, drizzle with melted white chocolate once cooled.
